A parent or guardian must accompany children. Floatation devices will be allowed at the discretion of the Pool Manager. Please check with the pool staff on the appropriateness of floatation devices prior to entering.
SWIM TEAM
The Sparta Seahorses Swim Team is designed for swimmers of all levels and ability. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards non-stop in order to participate. Proper competitive swim skills and swimming endurance are emphasized at each practice. The team will compete in 8-10 out of town swim meets throughout the summer. Most swim meets are held on Saturday afternoons.

INDIVIDUAL FEE: $24.00 Resident, $42.00 Non-Resident
FAMILY FEE: $50.00 Resident Family, $87.50 Non-Resident Family

LESSON INFORMATION
The newly updated American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program combines the best in swim instruction with an even stronger emphasis on drowning prevention and water safety. Courses are available for a variety of ages and skill levels to encourage a healthy, lifelong recreational habit and to help keep your family safe.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Swimmers must be a minimum of 6 years old. (Other than Parent and Child Aquatics and Preschool Aquatics).
Participants are limited to register for one session and one level per session at a time.
Upon completion of the session, participants will be instructed as to what level they will need to register in for the following session.
Individuals may register for the next session on the last Friday of the current session.
When signing your child up for lessons please bring their last level progress sheet.
Do NOT register your child into a level beyond their ability! It slows progress.

PARENT and CHILD AQUATICS (P.C.)
(ages 6 months – 3 years)
Parents and children learn together through tow fun-filled levels to increase children’s comfort in the water and build a foundation of basic aquatic and water safety skills.
LEVEL 1 (Parent and child)
Indroduces basic skills, including safety topics to parents and children.
- Learn to ask for permission before entering the water
- Learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner
- Feel comfortable in the water
- Explore submerging mouth, nose and eyes
- Explore buoyancy on the front and back positions
- Change body position in the water
- Learn how to play safely
- Experience wearing a U.S. Coast Guard Life Jacket

LEVEL 2 (Parent and child)
Builds on the skills introduces in Level 1, with participants improving these skills and learning more advanced skills

Preschool Aquatics (P.S.)
(ages 4 to 5 years)
Three fun, age-appropriate levels teach basic aquatic safety and survival skills to increase children’s comfort level in and around the water.
LEVEL 1 (Preschool Aquatics)
Orients children to the aquatic environment and helps them gain basic aquatic skills
- Enter and exit water using ladder, steps or side
- Blow bubbles through mouth and nose
- Submerge mouth, nose and eyes
- Open eyes under water and retrieve submerged object
- Front and back glides
- Recover from a front glide to a vertical position

LEVEL 6 (Swimming and Skill Proficiency)
Refines strokes so participants swim with ease. Level 6 features menu options to prepare participants for advanced activities, including the Water Safety Instructor course, competitive swimming or diving.
